I am directing this post specifically to the of the Indian diaspora in Malaysia, primarily the Tamil diaspora. Lately I have come across Facebook pages dedicated to collecting and publishing pictures of girls/women dressed ‘inappropriately’. I have also personally faced situations where the skirts I wear were ‘too short’ or my tops have a ‘extremely low-cut’ at the neck. I find that most Malaysian Indians have a rather chauvinistic attitude towards women, if there is one they had adhered to from the cultural origins of the race is the necessity to control women not the wealth of the language and not the actual heritage.

In this particular case it was a selfie of a pretty young Indian women in a bikini. This picture was published on a page explicitly condemning her actions (wearing a bikini) and this received lots of support from men particularly notorious, I am assuming based on…
